It was a high-end battle of 2-1 teams Friday night in Dearborn as Detroit Country Day trekked out to take on Dearborn Divine Child.
Both teams came into the matchup after receiving votes to be ranked — Divine Chld in Division 4 and Country Day in D5 — in the initial AP rankings earlier this week. Friday was also the first meeting between the two schools on the gridiron in more than a decade.
After a slow start offensively for both sides, the hometown Falcons used a second-half push to eventually earn a 23-6 win over the visiting Yellowjackets.
