Photos: Ohio State hosted several highly-touted prospects, commits for Purdue game
COLUMBUS — The Ohio State pitched a shut out against Purdue on Saturday. The Buckeyes beat the Boilermakers 45-0 and moved one step closer to clinching a spot in the Big Ten Championship game in December.
The Ohio State offense and defense shined in front of several commits and targets.
Ohio State hosted four-star Montgomery (Ala) running back and Alabama commit Anthony Rogers an official visit. Rogers checks in as the No. 159 overall prospect and the No. 10 running back in the On3 Industry Rankings.
Ohio State hosted more of its commits as well including Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Tavien St. Clair , four-star OT Carter Lowe , in-state IOL Jake Cook , four-star TE Brody Lennon , four-star WR Bodpegn Miller and three-star safety Cody Haddad .
It wasn't just commits who filled the Horseshoe, however. Some big top targets in the 2026 cycle were on campus as well.
Ohio State had four-star Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep running back Derrek Cooper , No. 1 running back in the On3 Industry Rankings, and four-star Mineral (Va.) Louisa County running back Savion Hiter , the No. 2 running back in the On3 Industry Rankings, in town.
Four-star Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco wide receiver Madden Williams also made his first trip to Columbus since 2023. While four-star Jacksonville (Fla.) The Bolles School tight end Corbyn Fordham visited Ohio State for the third time this calendar year.
New Jersey standouts four-star Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic defensive lineman Jermaine Kinsler and four-star Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic Jordan Thomas were also back visiting the Buckeyes on Saturday.
Finally, Ohio State hosted two top-100 prospect in the 2027 class. Four-star Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence North Monshun Sales , the No. 33 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings, and four-star Tampa (Fla.) Kaden Henderson , the No. 27 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings, both made their debut visits. The Buckeyes offered Henderson in October.
Ohio State has two more home games in its 2024 season, meaning two more opportunities to host and impress recruits. Indiana (Nov. 23) and Michigan (Nov. 30) all will play Ohio State in the Horseshoe in front of recruits. Both likely will be noon games but both will have loaded visitors lists.
