Pittsburgh Steelers add versatile OL after losing rookie to injury

N.Nguyen25 min ago
The Pittsburgh Steelers have elevated versatile offensive lineman John Leglue from the practice squad to the active roster for their game against the Los Angeles Chargers. That move comes after offensive tackle Troy Fautanu landed on injured reserve after leaving Friday's practice with a knee injury.

Fautanu is expected to miss most, if not all, of the season. Fourth tackle Dylan Cook is on injured reserve with a severe foot injury, so the Steelers could look to Leglue to replace that depth. If Leglue is only a temporary solution, then the Steelers could make a move to bring in someone from the outside.

  • BETTING:
  • Leglue signed with the Steelers after cutdown day and played in Arthur Smith's offense a season ago in Atlanta, so he could plug in at any of the five spots along the offensive line if needed.

The Steelers have just two true tackles on the roster, though Spencer Anderson can swing out there to play right or left tackle. He is starting at left guard with Isaac Seumalo sidelined with a pectoral injury.
