A Luzerne County constable was the victim of a hit-and-run accident in the
borough, an official from Luzerne County 911 said.
According to Luzerne County 911:
The constable, whose name was not released as of Thursday night, was struck
by a vehicle at about 10:30 p.m. on Huntsville Road near the Back Mountain
Library.
The person was taken to Scranton Community Medical Center, but the extent
of their injuries wasn’t known as of Thursday night.
WEST HAZLETON – Michelle Culver was arrested Wednesday night on charges of
robbing a borough woman of $476, state police said.
Katherine Snyder told state police she was at West Clay Avenue and South
Broad Street at 9:25 p.m. when Culver approached her from behind, pulled
Snyder’s hair and punched her in the head.
Snyder fell to the ground and Culver grabbed from her a bank envelope
containing $476, then fled the scene, state police said.
Culver was apprehended by state police at 11 p.m. and taken to the Luzerne
County Correctional Facility.
