Police are investigating a series on nonfatal shootings in New Haven over two days.

Officers learned of the first shooting on Sunday at 3:14 p.m. when members of the Milford Police Department contacted New Haven authorities and alerted them that a gunshot victim was being treated at a hospital in Milford, according to the New Haven Police Department .

The victim, a 35-year-old West Haven man, said he was shot on Elm Street in New Haven before being brought in a private vehicle to the hospital, police said.

Police said the man was later transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital, and that his injuries were found to not be life-threatening. Investigators later found ballistic evidence in the area of Elm Street and Winthrop Avenue.

Just before 5:10 p.m. Sunday, New Haven officers received a ShotSpotter notification in the area of Edgewood Avenue and Garden Street. Police then received a call from a tow truck driver who said he began to tow a car when someone started to shoot at him, according to police.

Just a few moments later, police said they received a 911 call from a Garden Street resident who said a bullet came through their door and struck a woman in the face. The victim, a 35-year-old New Haven woman, was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where staff discovered her injuries were not life-threatening, police said. Investigators were able to recover ballistic evidence at the scene.

Later in the night, just before 9:45 p.m., officers learned that another gunshot victim had been dropped off at Yale New Haven Hospital. The victim, a 41-year-old Branford resident, suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, according to police. Police said they were unable to determine where the shooting took place.

In the early morning hours on Monday around 4:30 a.m. officers responded to Yale New Haven's pediatric emergency department on a report of a girl suffering from a gunshot wound. Her injuries were found to not be life-threatening. Police have not released the age of the girl and said they were unable to determine where that shooting took place.

Just after 6 p.m. Monday, police said they were in the area of Foxon Boulevard and Quinnipiac Avenue where a gunshot victim was being tended to. A spokesperson for the police department did not immediately respond to a request for additional details.

Police said they are still investigating each incident and have not given any indication that any of them could be connected.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact New Haven detectives at 203-946-6304 or the department's anonymous tip-line at 866-888-TIPS (8477).
