Police investigating ‘unprovoked attack’ in Morgantown
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Morgantown Police Department (MPD) is investigating what it called an "unprovoked attack" on an individual on Friday, Nov. 1.
According to a press release from MPD , two male suspects assaulted a male victim on Walnut Street at around 4:20 a.m. The victim was "seated in a doorway" when one attacker struck the victim with a baseball bat-like object and the other stabbed the victim multiple times in the back, the release said.
Both suspects fled on foot and were last seen traveling south on Spruce Street. The victim was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital for their injuries.

MPD asks anyone with more information to call the detective unit at 304-284-7454. The department also said more information regarding the attack will be released as it becomes available.
