POLICE NEWS: Police make OWI arrests
Nov. 7—ARRESTS
—A 46-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Goshen police at 8:39 p.m. Wednesday on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and resisting law enforcement outside his home in the 500 block of Van Gilst Drive. Police said they were initially called to investigate a reckless driver in the 4000 block of Elkhart Road.
—A 61-year-old woman was arrested and jailed by Elkhart County deputies at 6:42 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated after she was stopped at Beardsley Avenue and Oak Street in Elkhart.
Elkhart County deputies received information on Wednesday regarding child molestation that may have occurred five to six years ago in the county.
A 45-year-old man reported to Elkhart County deputies that between 5 a.m. and 4:58 p.m. Wednesday someone attempted to break into his home in the 68000 block of C.R. 127 by prying and damaging the door frame.
—Goshen police at Elkhart High School, 2608 California Road, arrested a 16-year-old boy at 1:01 p.m. Wednesday on charges of disorderly conduct and battery against the school's principal. The teen was transported to the juvenile detention center where he was released to a guardian after being processed.
—A 71-year-old man reported to Goshen police at 4:39 p.m. Wednesday an attempted fraud in the 1000 block of Wilkinson Street.
—The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office received a report of a possible scamming of a county resident at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
—A 41-year-old woman reported to Elkhart County deputies at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday someone took $100 via Apple Pay and refused to send the item to him in the 27000 block of Sunset Strip in Elkhart.
