UPDATE: 3 adults, 2 children dead in Duluth murder-suicide

8:20 P.M. UPDATE: Five people are dead, including two children in a Duluth murder-suicide.

It began on Tacony Street where a woman and juvenile were shot and killed Thursday in their West Duluth home.

A male suspect was identified and officers set up a perimeter at his home near West 6th Street and North 44th Avenue West, adjacent to Denfeld High School.

When officers went inside, they found a 45-year-old woman and juvenile dead, also from gunshot wounds.

They also found the suspect, a 46-year-old man, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

No names are being released at this time.

Police tell us everyone involved knew each other and there's no threat to the community.

Names won't be released until next of kin are notified.

The investigation is ongoing.

A statement from Duluth Police reads "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims' families and loved ones involved in this tragic event."

Police plan to hold a press conference sometime tomorrow.

DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - The bodies of two people with gunshot wounds were discovered during a welfare check Tuesday by Duluth police.

DPD says at around 2:10 p.m. Thursday officers responded to a check welfare call near the intersection of Tacony Street and North 59th Avenue West in Duluth's Cody neighborhood.

When officers arrived, they found two individuals with gunshot wounds.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
