A police officer has been seriously injured in a suspected hit-and-run in Perth . The cop, in his 40s, was hit by a vehicle near a roundabout in Redcliffe at about 5pm. He was trying to speak to the driver, who had stopped, when the car accelerated away and hit the officer, WA Police said. The car crashed about 15 minutes later in Bellevue and a man in his 30s was arrested. It is not clear whether the officer was ran over deliberately. 'The police officer received serious injuries in the incident and was taken by St John WA to Royal Perth Hospital,' a police spokesman said.
