Police search for shooting suspect in Lenoir County

KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) — The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office is still searching for Ryan Keith Everette, a suspect involved in a shooting.

Lenoir County Public Information Officer Bryan Hanks reported that there will be a strong police presence at North Lenoir High School on Friday due to Everette not yet being located. The high school has been deemed safe for students to attend.

Everette was found to have shot two people Thursday night, 37 year old Kinston resident Dustin Snyder and 37 year old Snow Hill resident Kathryn Sturges. Both victims are currently in a local hospital.

Security checks were also performed at Banks Middle School by the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office. Police will continue to monitor the situation throughout the day.
