Pompano Beach Arts and South Bar & Kitchen Cook Up New Summer Event Backyard Jam Concert Series Brings the Heat to Old Town

Pompano Beach Arts and South Bar and Kitchen are throwing the ultimate summer bash – the Backyard Jam Concert Series! With Old Town Untapped on summer hiatus, the restaurant team and Cultural Affairs Department created a new event featuring a tasty mix of live music, delicious Southern bites, frosty craft cocktails and pure good times every first and third Friday this July, August and September. The Backyard Jam Concert Series kicks off July 5th with the electrifying Sacred Union Band! Get ready to groove to a killer setlist featuring everything from Red Hot Chili Peppers to Prince, Hall & Oates to Foo Fighters, even a dash of Etta James for good measure. This free event runs from 6-10 pm, so grab your friends and head to Old Town's Backyard for the summer's hottest nights! South will be offering food and drink specials. "This will be the ultimate summer hangout – incredible bands, delicious food, and the perfect Pompano Beach vibe!"

South Bar & Kitchen is a contemporary Southern American concept with a heavy Louisiana influence, infusing Cajun and Creole flavors in a tantalizing way. The restaurant overlooks Old Town's Backyard, an award-winning outdoor public gathering space located in Pompano Beach's Old Town area.

This fabulous group is an eclectic ensemble of artists and musicians dedicated to preserving the joy and experience of a live performance and festival atmosphere at all their shows. BiG MEDiZEN serves up the cure for what ails ya'!!

September 6, 2024 – Box of Rocks

Experience the best in acoustic rock and beyond! This band plays a wide variety of songs across all genres, featuring a lineup that combines acoustic guitars, sweet harmonies, bass, percussion, keyboards, and even a saxophone to create a truly unique sound.

About the City of Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs Department

The mission of the Cultural Affairs Department, operating as Pompano Beach Arts, is to provide cultural programming that includes visual arts, digital media, music, film, theater, dance, and public art for the enjoyment and enrichment of residents and visitors to Pompano Beach, Broward County, and the greater South Florida area. The department programs and manages the City's premiere cultural arts venues, including the Pompano Beach Cultural Center, Ali Cultural Arts Center, Bailey Contemporary Arts Center, and the Blanche Ely House Museum.
