Possible earthquake causes ‘rumbling’ in Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A possible earthquake caused Stamford to have some "rumblings" on Thursday evening, according to the Stamford Fire Department.

Fire Captain Chris Baker said that crews were sent out on reports of some rumblings or a potential explosion. He said that there was no immediate apparent damage, and that it appears that the sensation was an earthquake.

Potential Tropical Cyclone 19 formed in the Caribbean on Wednesday afternoon and is expected to strengthen into Tropical Storm Sara on Thursday.
