Primates on the loose in Yemassee, law enforcement officials say

YEMASSEE, S.C. (WSAV) — The Yemassee Police Department (YPD) is seeking the public's help locating several primates that escaped on Wednesday.
The primates escaped from the Alpha Genesis Primate Research Center located on Castle Hall Road, according to local law enforcement.
Should the public locate one of the escaped primates, please do not attempt to interact with them. Instead, please call 911 immediately.
Alpha Genesis Inc. provides nonhuman primate products and bio-research services world-wide, according to their website. This includes serum, plasma, whole blood, peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) and tissue samples.
WSAV is contacting local law enforcement for more information and will update.
