Provisional ballots counted in Snyder County
Nov. 7—MIDDLEBURG — The Snyder County Board of Elections reviewed 127 provisional ballots received in Tuesday's election.
It's the most provisional ballots — cast by registered voters uncertain if they were voting at the correct polling place — the county has received in recent memory. Commissioner Joe Kantz said it far exceeded the 60 provisional ballots cast in 2020.
During Thursday's review of the 127 ballots, the elections board denied 10 of them for either being cast by voters registered in another state or county or not registered at all. Three of those denied ballots were cast by inactive voters, Kantz said.
Three other ballots are still under review for confirmation, he said.
Snyder County Democratic Committee Chairman Christopher Kalcich earlier expressed concern about the voting process at a polling station in Selinsgrove, but said he was pleased with the provisional ballot count.
"The (elections board) was reasonable," he said.
