Public asked to avoid flooded Pittsburgh roadway

The public is asked to avoid part of a road in Pittsburgh's North Oakland neighborhood. The University of Pittsburgh Police Department asked people to avoid Dithridge Street between Bayard Street and 5th Avenue but did not specify why. A Channel 11 photographer on scene saw the roadway completely covered with water. Water was also pouring out of a fire hydrant. Pittsburgh Water is also on scene. In October, Robert Roberson, 57, was set to become the first person in the U.S. to be executed for a murder attributed to internal brain trauma caused by violent shaking. Hours before the sentence was to be carried out, he was spared death by lethal injection because a bi-partisan group state lawmakers wanted him to testify before them about the case, and successfully petitioned the high court.
