The Heavy Duty Maintenance Facility (HDMF) provides an enclosed environment for employees to work on rail equipment out of the weather.

HDMF is located at PuebloPlex, an industry-focused site where the old Pueblo Chemical Depot used to be.

The President and CEO of MxV Rail, Kari Gonzales, tells 11 News who the company is saying, "MxV Rail is the premier rail advisory for the North American rail industry, so we specialize in testing, training, research and consulting for the rail industry nationally and globally."

Gonzales says now MxV Rail, who spearheaded the HDMF project, can continue promoting safety, reliability, efficiency and resiliency.

Gonzales also tells 11 News having a facility like this one in Pueblo helps the city display it's testing capabilities to vendors from all over the world stating, "I think it's fantastic that Pueblo has a gem that's actually a worldwide gem."

Gonzales continues saying, "We are known for the work that we do to promote safety across the globe and it's awesome that Pueblo has such a unique organization. There's nobody else like us."
