A.Walker26 min ago

Pumpkinfest, a collaborative event of the Tri-State Museum and Visitor Center and the Belle Fourche Chamber of Commerce, will be held Saturday, Oct. 26 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will include over two dozen craft and food booths, either on the museum grounds or at Community Hall at 512 Sixth Avenue. Family activities will be held at the Tri-State Museum at 415 Fifth Avenue. These activities include an inflatable – weather permitting – plus face painting, the pumpkin train and a variety of new games and crafts. The "Haunted" Johnny Spaulding Cabin, with an "animals gone wild" theme, will be open for visitation.

There will be drawings for a kids' Halloween book throughout the day and all children will receive goodie bags of candy and novelties. "Maleficent" will demonstrate experiments every 15 minutes after 11 a.m. and help kids make colorful playdoh.

The Tri-State Performers will present the family comedy, "The Great Halloween Scavenger Hunt," at noon and 3 p.m. There is no charge for admission to the play.

Kids can sign up during the day for the costume contest, which will be judged at 3:30, following the last performance of the play. There will be $25 awards given for the scariest, funniest and most original costume.
