Pure Cork partner with Formula Drift champion James Deane to promote Cork on the international stage

Pure Cork, the official destination brand for Cork city and county, has announced three-time Pro Formula Drift champion James Deane will represent Pure Cork at this weekend's LA Finale.

Currently racing ahead in the motorsports world, James will be promoting his home county of Cork while competing for the 2024 Formula Drift World Pro Championship and other races.

The professional drift and precision driver has already won the championship three times and is racing ahead towards an unprecedented fourth championship title ahead of the final round of the 2024 season at Irwindale Speedway, Los Angeles.

It is highly anticipated that he will make history as the first driver to claim a fourth Formula Drift title, further solidifying his legacy in motorsports.

Seamus Heaney, Head of Visit Cork which manages the Pure Cork brand, said: "James Deane is a sensation in the world of motorsports, recognised as one of drifting's most accomplished and dominant figures. As James aims for his fourth title, his extraordinary achievements are placing Cork on the global map in an entirely new way."

Mr Heaney continued: "Cork is the nucleus of the sport at the moment with a lot of great talent coming from here recently. James is one of the small pool of pro-drivers for Ford and that's another fantastic connection with Cork. We are really grateful that he is volunteering his time to help promote his home county to an international audience."

As part of his role representing Pure Cork, the Pure Cork logo will be proudly displayed on James Deane's Ford Mustang RTR during his competitions.

Pure Cork will also be mentioned on the official broadcast channel during the race, exposing the Pure Cork brand to millions of motorsport fans worldwide.

Deane will also present his team with a selection of specially curated gifts from Cork, sharing a piece of his heritage with the world on social media.

The Cork sports star said he is 'incredibly' proud to represent Pure Cork. "Cork has always been central to my journey, and I'm excited to showcase its beauty, culture, and energy on the global stage.

"I'm incredibly proud to represent Pure Cork and bring a piece of my home with me as I compete internationally," said Mr Deane.

James Deane's final competition of 2024 is in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 19 where he will compete in the finals of the 2024 Formula Drift Pro season.

His accomplishments, both on and off the track, are set to bring significant visibility to Cork, highlighting it as a world-class destination for visitors and businesses alike.
