D.Adams8 days ago
All things must come to an end, even excessive heat.

The good news is that the heat wave that's been plaguing the central Pennsylvania region for the last few days will finally come to a close, but not before we have one more day in the 90s.

According to the National Weather Service in State college, we will have one more day of excessive heat. The high for today will be 90, but the heat index will make it feel more like 100-104.

The NWS also says strong to severe thunderstorms might be possible later this afternoon and evening in the southeast half of central Pa. (i.e. Dauphin, Lancaster and York counties).

A heat advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. today for Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry, and York Counties. Residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and stay in an air-conditioned space.

After today, however, temperatures are expected to go back down starting Thursday, with less humidity and highs in the 80s.

The five-day forecast, according to AccuWeather, is:

Today: Partly sunny with thunderstorms, high 90.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, high 89

Friday: Partly sunny, high 86

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, high 84

Sunday: Intermittent clouds, high 91
