Raiders vs Bengals score: Las Vegas is rudderless in another loss
J.Nelson2 hr ago
I haven't watched every game of the Las Vegas Raiders' season. I'm filling in for Bill Williamson while he recovers from an injury. Is this what it's always like? The Raiders played the Cincinnati Bengals this afternoon, and it just seems like las Vegas just doesn't have a plan. They lost 41-24 in a game that wasn't even that close. In the second half they benched quarterback Gardner Minshew for Desmond Ridder , a player they added just a couple weeks ago. How many quarterbacks can they cycle through? The Raiders' offense was terrible for most of the game despite scoring 24 points. The final seven came in garbage time while another seven came from a pick-6. They put the first points on the board in the first quarter but couldn't sustain that momentum. The offense finished with just 16 first downs and 38 percent third-down conversions and 217 total yards. They averaged under three yards per rush and 4.1 yards per passing attempt. They were sacked five times for 41 lost yards. Cincinnati's offense, meanwhile, did a lot of what they wanted. They had 26 first down, 373 yards, and five touchdowns. The Raiders are on the bye next week and they are tied for last place in the AFC, three games out of a playoff spot already. On the injury front, Las vegas lost several players during the game. They ended up with their final two offensive tackles on the field after injuries to left tackle Kolton Miller and Andrus Peat. Center Andre James was already out of the game with an ankle injury from last week. Slot cornerback Nate Hobbs, tight end Harrison Bryant, and guard Cody Whitehair all left the game, as well.
