Rain, sleet could fall in central Pa. on breezy Tuesday
C.Wright3 months ago
Rain and sleet could fall on Tuesday, but the midstate will miss out on snow that’s expected to fall in other parts of the state, forecasters said. Sleet may make some roads slick during the morning commute; however, the National Weather Service said the precipitation will shift to solely rain by 2 p.m. Little to no sleet accumulation is expected, forecasters said. Although areas to the west and north could see some snow flurries, forecasters are expecting less than an inch of accumulation. Forecasters said central Pennsylvania’s winds will move at 15–20 mph but could gust up to nearly 30 mph. The rest of the week will be sunny and free of any inclement weather, according to the NWS. Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day will be sunny, with highs in the low to mid 50s, forecasters said. More than 20 mph winds are possible both Wednesday and Thursday. Forecasters said Friday will be another sunny day, with temperatures barely reaching the upper 40s. With a wintry precipitation mix expected for tomorrow morning we wanted to highlight our current thoughts on the timing for the beginning of it. Accumulation amounts for freezing rain and snow should remain minimal, and everything will transition to rain by mid afternoon. #PAwx pic.twitter.com/J0nFAkUFMq — NWS State College November 20, 2023 High near 45.
