Rays Take Series From Royals

The Tampa Bay Rays (44-43) defeated the Kansas City Royals (48-41) 10-8 on Thursday night in Kansas City. The Rays have now won five consecutive series.

The Rays built leads of 4-0 and 8-3 but the Royals battled throughout this game. Brandon Lowe with 3-for-5 with a homer and a RBI while scoring three runs - Jonny DeLuca also went 3-for-5 with a homer and two runs driven in.

Zach Eflin (5-5, 4.19) got the win allowing six runs - five of them earned - on seven hits while striking out three and walking one. Pete Fairbanks earned his 14th save working the ninth inning, in which he allowed just a solo home run to Bobby Witt.

The Rays now head to Texas and will face the defending World Series Champions Rangers beginning on Friday night. First pitch on Friday night is scheduled for 8:05 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at 7:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620 .
