STOWE, Vt. (WCAX) - Car enthusiasts from all over revved up their engines and showed off their classic cars.

"This car is a bit of a mystery kind of car," Malcolm Appleton of Grandville said, gesturing to his ride. "Which is what is so attractive about it."

Appleton has been showing people his 1932 MG M-type race car for many years now. He traveled all the way to Pennsylvania to find it, and at the end of the summer couldn't wait to bring it back to the car show.

"I have a long history. I have had so many different cars that were here," Appleton said. "I just thought it would be fun. As you can see, people are fascinated by it...it's like bees around a honey pot."

Appleton is one of the many that has been going to the show for 33 years now. The event has over 400 cars, all classic models and all British. This year, over 2,000 people came to see the spectacles.

"We like to come partly not to just see other people, and other cars, but also to inform people, or tell them about our cars," Roderic Gilbert of Massachusetts said. "About the British cars, and what they are, where they are manufactured. They don't make cars like this anymore."

The event is the largest all-British motorcar show in the country, and on-lookers say they like the view.

"I feel like a kid in a bit of a toy store," visitor Thomas McCorry of Rhode Island said. "Excited, a little overwhelmed. A little overwhelmed in a good way."

"A lot of cars," Anna Soucy of New Hampshire said. "A lot of time and effort I'm sure has been put into each one. It's kind of cool to see everybody's combined passion and love for their vehicles."
