Report: Jordan Love Expected to Start for Packers vs. Lions After Groin Injury
J.Ramirez2 hr ago
Mike Carlson/ Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love is reportedly expected to be back under center for Sunday's NFC North showdown with the Detroit Lions. According to The Athletic's Dianna Russini , Love is in line to start the Week 9 clash after exiting last week's win over the Jacksonville Jaguars with a groin injury. Love's health has been a consistent storyline for the Packers this season, as he suffered a sprained MCL in the opener against the Philadelphia Eagles and missed the next two games against the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans. He then suffered a groin injury in Week 8 against Jacksonville and exited the contest, although NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported it was "nothing major." NFL Network's Tom Pelissero added the quarterback was considered "day to day" with a chance to play Sunday. Keeping Love on the field is key for the Packers, as he is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFC when healthy. He threw for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2023 in his first season as a full-time starter and has followed up by completing 61.7 percent of his passes for 1,547 yards, 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions through six starts this season. Should Love suffer an in-game setback or be deemed unable to play before kickoff, Malik Willis will look to keep the offense afloat once again as he did admirably in Week 8.
