LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Detroit Lions have made a trade ahead of Tuesday's 4:00 p.m. ET NFL trade deadline. Detroit is sending a 2025 5th round pick and a 2026 6th round pick for Browns Defensive End Za'Darius Smith and a 2026 7th round pick, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Lions had been on the hunt for help with an edge rusher after Aidan Hutchinson fractured his tibia and fibula in the Lions' blowout win over the Dallas Cowboys in week 6 of the NFL season.

Za'Darius Smith is no stranger to the NFC North as he previously played for both the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings. The 32-year-old has registered five sacks so far this season.

The Lions will face off against the Houston Texans this weekend on Sunday Night Football at 8:20 P.M. on WILX-TV 10.
