Restaurant RIP: Lubbock Loses Final Location Of Asian Eatery
Amid a string of many restaurant closures here in Lubbock, another one bites the dust. This time, the last location of Chop Chop in Lubbock has called it quites.
Chop Chop, located at 5707 4th Street, is now permanently closed, according to Everything Lubbock .
According to Chop Chop's website, the restaurant's aim is, "simple, fresh, fast" Asian-style cuisine.
Chop Chop's closure woes began in June this year when the first of three locations was shuttered. It was located near Indiana and 82nd Street. Then, the Milwaukee location closed this past October.
Chop Chop had a presence in Lubbock for a least a decade, if memory serves me correctly.

That's a fairly rapid succession to lose three restaurants locations, but it has been an incredibly difficult year for the food business here in Lubbock.
Chop Chop is an Amarillo original, so if you're willing to take a short day trip, you can still enjoy their unique take on hibachi meats and veggies. The Amarillo locations were voted "Best Take-Out" by Amarillo Globe magazine.
The loss of the last Lubbock location of Chop Chop comes amid many other restaurant closures of late, including both local places like Simply Decadent Bakery and locations of major chains including Logan's Roadhouse .

Here's hoping that the owners of Chop Chop can find a tremendous amount of success by focusing on their original locations in Amarillo and that they find success in whichever other endeavors they choose to take on.
The restaurant business is not for the weak of heart or will, and I commend anyone who can find success with it as long as Chop Chop has.
