Resurfacing project on K-126 to cause delays for Pittsburg commuters

PITTSBURG, Kan. — A heads up for drivers who commute in and out of Pittsburg this week, you may need to account for extra time.

The Kansas Department of Transportation will begin resurfacing work this upcoming week on K-126, east of Pittsburg city limits to the Kansas-Missouri state line, highlighted in blue on your screen.

The project includes patching and a mill and inlay.

Flaggers and a pilot car will direct one-lane traffic through the work zone during daylight hours.

Once that section is done, crews will work on resurfacing K-126 from U.S. 400, north and east to K-7.

Drivers approaching either of those sections while they're under construction should expect delays of 15 minutes or less.

All of the work should be done by late November, weather permitting.

This is a KDOT project at a cost of 3.1 million dollars.
