Spring routinely brings out the people, whether it’s an event to help others, celebrate an annual tradition or just get dressed up and have some fun. The Mountain Top Welcome Club held an auction fundraiser Thursday night at the Stagecoach Inn, Route 309, to benefit the Marian Sutherland Kirby Library, the Mountain Top Youth Soccer Association and the Wright Township Park Expansion Project. In Wilkes-Barre, thousands attended the annual two-day Cherry Blossom Festival, which featured an array of dancers, music and good food in a picturesque setting. On Friday, hundreds of members of the Red Hat Society donned their trademark outfits and went to the Genetti Hotel & Convention Center in downtown Wilkes-Barre to celebrate National Red Hat Day.
