Rochester Man Charged After Report of Drunk Man With Gun

Rochester, MN ( KROC-AM News ) - A Rochester man is facing several felony charges stemming from his arrest last night after Rochester police responded to a report of an intoxicated individual brandishing a firearm.

The incident occurred shortly after 10 PM in northwest Rochester. According to the criminal complaint in the case, a responding officer spotted a person matching the description of the suspect and ordered him to stop. Instead the man began running away.

Rochester Man Allegedly Caught With Loaded "Ghost Guns."

The court document indicates two officers managed to catch up with the man, and while he was being held on the ground, the suspect repeatedly mentioned that there were guns in his backpack. A search of the backpack led to the discovery of two so-called " ghost guns " lacking serial numbers. One had a fully loaded 16 round magazine and a bullet in the chamber and the other held seven bullets.

The charges allege the man physically resisted arrest as the officers were placing him in the back of a squad car. It is also alleged that he became violent with detention deputies after his arrival at the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center, where a detention deputy was bitten on the arm.

was charged today with possessing a firearm with no serial numbers and felony fourth-degree assault of a correctional officer. He also faces gross misdemeanor counts of obstructing the legal process and carrying a pistol without a permit, along with a misdemeanor charge of fleeing police .

Aguek's bail was set at $20,000.
