Rockford man charged with sexual abuse of a minor
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Police arrested Shane Havens, 54, for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage girl from the age of 15 through the age of 17.
On October 2, the victim told her mother Havens had assaulted her. The suspect told the victim he would commit suicide if she did not comply with him, according to court documents.
Police were made aware of the victim's story three days later.
Authorities were called to the 200 block of Skylar Drive for a call reporting Havens was attempting suicide on October 12th.
Havens was eventually taken into custody and to a local hospital for further medical attention.
He is charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a minor, four counts of criminal sexual assault using force and four counts of criminal sexual assault without consent.
