ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Early voting began on September 26th and Rockfordians have not wasted time getting out to vote.

The Rockford Board of Elections mailed out more than 10,000 ballots and has seen nearly 5,000 in-person voters.

Two additional early voting sites will be open beginning Monday. Voters can go to Emmanuel Episcopal Church from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday Through Friday to vote or the science and math building at Rock Valley College from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

"We do have about 91,000 registered voters in the city limits. It just varies when people want to vote and what we do is we give them multiple options, vote by mail, early voting and of course, if they want to vote at their pole on November 5th many people like to do that as well," said Board of Election Commissioners Executive Director Jorge Paredes.

Online registration to vote closes on Sunday at midnight and the last day to mail ballots is October 31st.
