Rockford woman keeps seat on Kent County Board of Commissioners

KENT COUNTY, MI - Republican Katie DeBoer of Rockford defeated Democrat Judy Wood for the District 4 seat on the Kent County Board of Commissioners.

DeBoer, the incumbent, received 13,775 votes, or 64.70 percent, to Wood's 7,479 votes, or 35.13 percent, according to unofficial results provided by the Kent County Clerk's Office.

District 4 covers Rockford, Cannon and Courtland townships and the southern third of Nelson Township, not including Cedar Springs.

Commissioners are elected to four-year terms. Previously, terms were two years before a change in state law.
