Roland schools under lockdown due to ‘potential threat’

ROLAND, Okla. ( KNWA/KFTA ) — Roland Public Schools says on Oct. 17 it is under a lockdown due to a "potential threat."

According to a post on Facebook , the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is looking into the threat.

All through traffic will be stopped and no students will be released until an all-clear is given. Buses will run when the school district deems it safe. "This is for the safety of all those on campus," the district said.

The school district says it was notified by a third party of a "potential threat" through the suicide hotline. The hotline has been talking with the caller and communicating with law enforcement.

The school distirct says it will release information as it comes in.
