On Election Day, Rollingwood residents faced a decision on two City Council seats.

Election results show that Rollingwood residents voted in favor of keeping incumbents Kevin Glasheen and Sara Hutson in the two seats up for election. With all 176 Travis County precincts reporting, early and Election Day voting results are as follows:

  • Kevin Glasheen: 28.36%, or 460 votes
  • Sara Hutson: 26.76%, or 434 votes
  • Wendi Hundley: 21.95%, or 356 votes
  • Amy Pattillo: 22.93%, or 372 votes
  • "I'm appreciative of the voters showing some confidence in the work we've been doing on council," Glasheen said when reached for comment Nov. 6. "We've been dealing with residential code review, trying to make sure that the re-development that has been going on still respects the rights of the older residents. ... I think the voters appreciate the deliberate and thoughtful approach we've taken in reviewing our residential code." Sara Hutson did not respond to requests for comment as of press time.

The four candidates who ran for these seats include Wendi Huntley and Amy Patillo, as well as incumbents Kevin Glasheen and Sara Hutson. All candidates either currently serve or have previously served on City Council.

All council members elected in Rollingwood serve two-year staggered terms. Both Glasheen and Hutson were most recently elected to the council in 2022. Hutson also serves as Mayor Pro Tem of Rollingwood, performing mayoral duties when Mayor Gavin Massingill is absent.

Rollingwood's mayoral seat is also up for re-election, however Mayor Massingill has already secured the seat as he ran uncontested this year. All results are unofficial until canvassed. The candidates

On Oct. 17, the City of Rollingwood hosted a City Council Candidate Forum, sponsored by Rollingwood Gentleman's Club, with all four candidates. Questions were posed to the candidates in order for residents to get a sense of their priorities for the city.

Amy Patillo is a former Rollingwood council member who previously served a two-year term from November 2017 to November 2019. When asked why she wanted to run for council again, Patillo said that she was passionate about making government accessible while promoting the community's efforts of volunteerism.

"I want to lead our community in supporting neighbors of all ages, feeling like they have a friendly face at City Hall who is ready to solve problems together and find common ground," Patillo said.

Wendi Hundley is a representative appointed by Travis County on the CAMPO Transportation Policy Board, who previously served two terms on city council . As listed on her website, a few of her priorities for the city of Rollingwood include public safety, property rights, infrastructure, and community engagement.

"Together we can solve all the problems because we are a wonderful small community with a lot of citizens who really care and are really involved. I think I can help to guide that, that's what I'd like to do," Hundley said.

Council members Sara Hutson and Kevin Glasheen currently serve on City Council and are seeking re-election.

Having served on City Council for 15 years, Hutson works as the principal engineer for a small engineering firm outside of her work for the city. Understanding water treatment and drainage is a skillset well suited to addressing Rollingwood's problems, Hutson said.

Outside of his work on the council, Glasheen works as a personal injury lawyer, and is a founding partner of a small law firm serving West Texas and New Mexico. He also works as a real estate developer. Experience in these arenas provides knowledge which can allow Rollingwood to be a better partner in development, Glasheen said.

    What's next?

The elected council members will be sworn in at Rollingwood City Hall on Nov. 20.
