WICHITA COUNTY, Texas (KAUZ) - Donald Trump is headed back to the White House. Around the world, people are reacting to the news, including in Wichita Falls. Community members from both sides of the isles shared their reactions to the outcome of this race. By securing the needed votes, Trump has completed a political comeback to the White House, clinching victory just after 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday. The Chairwoman of the Wichita County GOP shared her excitement on the outcome of this election. "Well, we are thrilled. It was an absolutely historic, inspiring, and amazing election. So, we are completely happy with the win. He really worked hard and deserves this win, and it's a great thing for America and for Texas," Wichita County GOP Chairwoman Julie Wilson said. It was projected to take days for a final vote count on who would be the 47th President of the United States, but Trump won not only the Electoral College but also the national popular vote. "I mean the wins that went across the state and across the nation are really going to help the America First platform," she said. A lot was at stake for both sides of the aisle, clashing on women's rights, immigration and the state of the economy. Those who voted red believe Trump will strengthen the country. "Getting us back on track so that families and individuals can afford homes and groceries and gas," Wilson said. "Kind of cut a little close with gas prices and food prices recently. That's the biggest thing that I was getting worried about which is food and money," Republican voter Jacob Stripling said. On the other side of the aisle, the election outcome raises some concerns. One Democratic voter shared that he's disappointed, but still wants to move forward with a positive outlook. "Mainly, because the Project 2025 thing is a big deal. Like banning gay rights, women's rights, and all that. So, I feel like that pushed me towards Kamala," Democratic voter Chuks Ezeuka said. In 2022, The Heritage Foundation and 140 former Trump staffers put together Project 2025, a plan that would impact the Justice Department, climate change, taxes, and healthcare if implemented. "If it passes, this might be a rough 4 years. Mainly because a lot of these polies impact these certain groups. So, we can only pray to be honest. Make sure y'all are doing the right thing next time, basically," Ezeuka said. According to an from the Associated Press, his agenda has plenty of overlap with the project. "Trump says he is not a part of Project 2025, but I would say look at the RNC's platform and Trump's platform and what he stands for he really wants to get America back on track," Wilson said. The Presidential Inauguration is about two and a half months from now. Trump will be sworn into office on Jan. 20, 2025. Presidents typically move into the White House on the same day, after the ceremony.
