Roof collapses on Mount Vernon home during structure fire

MOUNT VERNON, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A Rockcastle County home was damaged during an early morning structure fire.

At 3:14 a.m., the Mount Vernon Fire Department was called to a fire on Paul Street. At the scene, fire units found a home "fully involved" in the fire and the roof had completely fallen in.

According to firefighters, Brodhead and Livingstone fire units assisted with the blaze and were able to get it under control quickly.

Officials report that around 20,000 gallons of water were used to combat the fire and all units have left the scene.
