Roosevelt ISD looking for solutions after failure of bond proposal

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Roosevelt voters decided against using $58.5 million in bond money for improvements to the school district.

Roosevelt ISD Superintendent Dallas Grimes said, "Just ask our voters to consider this, down the road, as we continue to work toward a solution. The district's needs are still here today, regardless of how the election went. Our needs are still here. We have aging facilities. We have already overcrowding issues. We anticipate future growth because of the commercial businesses coming into Lubbock that are coming into this portion of the county."

Leprino Foods has already moved into the Roosevelt School District, which Grimes believed would help relieve the burden on property taxpayers.
