Roundup: Auburn football runs through Watertown on the road

Auburn football had three 100-yard rushers in its 49-13 win over Watertown on Thursday on the road.

Quarterback Matt Smith led the team with 132 yards on the ground and three touchdowns on eight carries. Johntae Smith took 10 carries for 104 yards and two scores, while Alex Chase picked up 101 yards on eight attempts.

The Maroons added points on the defensive end to give their team another boost, as Johntae Smith and Aidan Musso each returned an interception for six points.

Anthony Mancuso led the defense in the victory with a team-high 15 tackles. Logan Polcovich and David Jeremiah Baker each had eight tackles and one sack.

Now sitting at 6-1, the Maroons will play their final regular season game on Oct. 25 when they host 7-0 Whitesboro.

AUBURN — Auburn football won its second home game of the season on Friday with a 40-20 domination of Henninger.

Field hockeyWhitney Point 8, Moravia 1: Caraline Wasileski netted the Blue Devils' lone goal on Thursday in their loss at home. Brooke Proper ended with one assist, while goalie Lucy Coningsby recorded seven saves.

Cato-Meridian 3, Altmar-Parish-Williamstown 0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-19): Jasmine Kolb racked up 13 total points, 15 assists and 12 digs in the Blue Devils' victory on Thursday on the road. Caitlin Salmonsen finished the contest with 11 total points and 13 digs, while Mckenzie Smith totaled 6 serve points, four aces and nine digs. Megan Kyle concluded with 11 total points, and Mollie Walton had a team-high 47 digs. Lilli Humphreys was responsible for 6 serve points, four aces and eight assists.

Auburn 3, Fowler 0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-17): Zoey Carrington led the Maroons with five access and four kills on Thursday in their home victory. Grace Mack racked up 6 total points, seven digs and four blocks, while Tionna Edghill had 6 total points and three blocks. Quinn Hoselton concluded with five aces, one kill and seven assists.

Skaneateles 3, Cazenovia 2 (25-23, 26-24, 25-8, 25-19, 15-6): Delaney Fish had a team-high 35 assists to go along with 4 total points and 12 digs on Wednesday in the Lakers' home win. Finnly Pas'cal finished with 13 total points, 14 digs and one block, while Hannah Ruetsch had 11 total points and 15 digs. Natalie Quinn ended with 11 total points and eight digs. Maddie Mayer tallied 10 total points and a pair of blocks.

Newfield 3, Moravia 0: Kylee Cooper racked up five kills, two aces and six digs on Wednesday in the Blue Devils' loss at home. Molly Axton had 10 assists, six digs and two kills, while Annelise Kraan finished with three aces, one kill and 38 digs. Daisy Drake tallied three kills and one assist.
