RPLA: Thank You For Supporting David Reagor!
By LISA SHIN Chair Republican Party of Los Alamos
Dear Friends:
What a relief that the 2024 Election cycle is over! A big congratulations to our newly elected County Councilors: Ryn Herrmann, Beverly Neal-Clinton and David Reagor.
I want to personally thank the RPLA Executive and Central Committee members, our Los Alamos Federated Republican Women (LAFRW), each volunteer and donor to his campaign, as well as every Republican, Democrat and Independent who voted for David Reagor!
I can assure you that your concerns and voices matter to him. He will continue to take public input seriously and encourage public engagement. He agrees with you that Los Alamos needs a government that is fiscally responsible, transparent and accountable to its citizens.
Los Alamos has spoken loud and clear: we want a local government that prioritizes the success of our small businesses.
For those Democrats undoubtedly upset about the cross-overs who delivered a victory to David Reagor, you still have a supermajority to pass most, if not all, initiatives that align with your Party platform. Many were willing to vote for a Republican who was with them on local issues and cared enough to knock on their doors, answer their questions. They went on to vote for Democrats at every other level of government. In his second term, Councilor David Reagor will strive to make Los Alamos a better place for all of us.
Our national election was certainly a repudiation of the elite ruling class. I truly hope that it is a wake-up call for lasting change. Bernie Sanders was correct that the Democratic Party has largely abandoned the working class, those living paycheck to paycheck.
Blowing millions to tout Hollywood stars did not earn the votes of those worried about groceries, gas prices, crime, and the border.
As I indicated in my last newsletter, people are being driven out of Los Alamos due to the cost of living. Moving forward, the Republican Party of Los Alamos will follow this "seismic shift" and become a stronger advocate for the working-class families in our town.
I look forward to seeing you for our Thanksgiving Potluck at 6 p.m. on Nov. 21 at Open Door Bible Church. We will have much to celebrate!
Sincerely,
Lisa Shin RPLA Chair
