Saint Francis of Assisi Kitchen invites donations for holiday meals
As Thanksgiving approaches, Saint Francis of Assisi Kitchen is preparing to serve meals to those in need.
The nonprofit organization provides free meals to individuals and families facing hardship, offering a warm place to gather during the holiday season.
Saint Francis of Assisi Kitchen's Head Chef, Selena Gonzalez, encourages everyone to donate any kind of grocery items, as long as they are fresh, they do not need to be strictly non-perishable.
"The way I look at it, everyone who walks through those doors is gonna go home fed, happy, and full. If you have nowhere to go for Thanksgiving, you're welcome to come to our kitchen. You're gonna get the same Thanksgiving dinner you would get as if you were home. We're gonna do a full spread; turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, all of that stuff. A lot of it is focused on donations. We look for toiletries because we stock them in our clothing store. We're looking for canned goods. Anything that you would fill in your household, we will accept here," Gonzalez said.
They say you can make a difference for those in need this holiday season by either donating food, money, or your time.
