SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Saint Mary's picked up a 77-74 win over Nebraska in men's basketball inside a packed Sanford Pentagon Sunday afternoon.

The Gaels scored the first eight points of the game and led by as many as 14 less than seven minutes into the contest. The Cornhuskers closed the half on a run and pulled within three heading into the locker room.

The Huskers scored nine of the first 11 points of the second half to surge in front by four. SMC responded with a 9-0 run moments later to retake the lead. After the game was knotted at 60, the Gaels scored 10 of the next 13 to seize control once again. Nebraska tightened the gap to one in the final seconds, but Saint Mary's held on to remain undefeated.

Nebraska's Brice Williams poured in a game-high 28 points while shooting 8-for-12 from the floor and a perfect 11-of-11 from the free throw line. Mikey Lewis led four Gaels in double figures with 23 points.

The next marquee college basketball game featuring power-conference teams at the Pentagon is Wednesday as Iowa and Kansas battle in women's basketball.
