Saints News: Key Offensive Player Unlikely to Play vs Eagles

New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill has been downgraded to "doubtful" for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles, via ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Hill has been battling a chest injury he sustained during the Saints' win over the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday. He was injured during the third quarter and had to go to the hospital, but was able to fly back to New Orleans with the team.

Per the Saints' injury report, Hill did not practice Wednesday and was a limited participant on both Thursday and Friday.

"He's great. He'll be listed as questionable on the injury report and we'll see how he does over the next couple of days," Allen said Friday, via Ryan McDonald of Deseret . "If he's able to go, he'll be out there, that's for sure."

Since Allen's comments, Hill has been downgraded to out.

The Saints' do-it-all weapon has eight carries for 53 yards and two catches for two yards to begin the 2024 season. Hill, who has accumulated over 700 yards rushing, passing, and receiving, became a versatile weapon under former Saints head coach Sean Payton.

While the Saints will be without Hill, their offense should be just fine against the Eagles. The Saints' offense has absolutely dominated through the first two weeks of the season and is averaging 45.5 points per game. They earned blowout wins over both the Carolina Panthers and Dallas Cowboys to begin the year, as their cast of weapons has overwhelmed opponents.

The Saints have dynamic weapons in running back Alvin Kamara, wide receivers Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed, and tight end Juwan Johnson. Against the Cowboys, the offense was so dominant scored touchdowns on their first six offensive possessions of the game.
