AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) — The Salvation Army of Aiken is stepping up after Hurricane Helene.

According to Captain Michael Good, they've fed thousands, providing lunch and dinner across Edgefield, Aiken, Allendale, and Barnwell Counties. The soup kitchen is now a disaster feeding hub at 604 Park Avenue in Aiken, plus they have mobile canteens reaching those in need.

Preparation started early. When the hurricane hit, they were ready to serve. Michael's family is involved too—his daughter even helped serve food.

Right now, they need financial donations to keep the effort going. They're focused on reaching the hardest-hit areas still without power.

To find out more, check their Facebook page. They post daily meal locations and updates.
