San Francisco 49ers’ Deebo Samuel doesn’t regret calling Philadelphia Eagles’ James Bradberry ‘trash’

The trash-talking has started ahead of Sunday’s game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles in a showdown of the NFC’s two best teams. The game is a rematch of last season’s NFC Championship game, won by the Eagles.

Actually, the trash-talking hasn’t just started, it’s a continuation from the conference championship game.

San Francisco wide receiver Deebo Samuel called Eagles’ cornerback James Bradberry “trash” during the offseason. Does Samuel regret his harsh assessment of Bradberry?

Nope.

“ I don’t regret nothing I said ,” Samuel told nbasportsbayarea.com on Monday.

Samuel credited the Eagles’ defensive line for elevating the play of Bradberry and fellow cornerback Darius Slay. While Samuel praised Slay, he wasn’t so kind to Bradberry. Samuel expressed vindication after Bradberry’s critical penalty that helped Kansas City defeat the Eagles 38-35 in Super Bowl 57.

Samuel did say the 49ers are going to treat the game like any other on the schedule. However, that’s just not true. The Eagles are 10-1 and they defeated the 49ers (8-3) in the conference championship game last season. The 49ers say the outcome would have been different if quarterback Brock Purdy did not suffer an elbow injury in the first quarter.
