Seattle Seahawks elevate cornerback Josh Jobe for third straight week

For the third week in a row, Seattle Seahawks cornerback Josh Jobe has gotten the practice squad call-up.

Jobe and wide receiver Cody White have been elevated onto the gameday roster ahead of Sunday's Week 9 showdown against the Los Angeles Rams . For Jobe, it's his final elevation permitted under the NFL rules. The only way he can get another gameday appearance for the Seahawks is if he signs to the active roster.

The former Alabama corner made his Seahawks debut against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7, recording a couple of passes defensed. He got his first career interception against the Buffalo Bills last week, becoming the first player to intercept Josh Allen this season. Interestingly enough, Mike Macdonald hinted at competition for Tre Brown's starting spot, and the Seahawks don't have any corners on the injury report this week. With the trade deadline on Tuesday, you wonder if that statement is more about Brown's future on the roster than anything else.

White had a good preseason but was unable to make the active roster in a crowded wide receiver group. He's been on the practice squad throughout the season and with DK Metcalf injured, he gives Seattle another option at receiver.
