GREENSBORO — Police have arrested the second of two suspects as part of their investigation into a deadly shooting that occurred at Dudley High School after a football game in September.

Amari Robert Singletary, 18, was charged Monday with first-degree murder, discharge of a weapon into occupied property, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of firearm on educational property, and felony and misdemeanor hit-and-run, Greensboro Police said in a news release Monday night.

Singletary is being held without bond, police said. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, according to online booking records.

Matthew Grant, 59, was shot and killed in the parking lot outside Dudley High School’s football stadium on Sept. 29. Four other people were injured in the incident, which police are still investigating.

On Thursday, police charged a 17-year old male with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm on school grounds, discharge from a moving vehicle and aggravated assault. A department spokesman said a juvenile petition has been delivered to juvenile court.

Police are not identifying him because of his age and would not say where he is being held.

Grant was an associate minister at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, which is just across the street from Dudley. Family and friends have said Grant loved ministering to young people in the Dudley community.

He had volunteered at The Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, American Red Cross and Greensboro Urban Ministry.
