Muncy, Pa. — State Sen. Gene Yaw (R-23) hosted his annual "Breakfast Meeting on Agriculture" on Oct. 31 with nearly 125 participants representing agriculture and agribusiness in Lycoming, Union and Sullivan counties.

Held at the Today Farm in Muncy, attendees included Secretary Russell Redding of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, farmers, agribusiness professionals, 4-H members, Montgomery and Montoursville FFA students, dairy and county fair royalty, teachers, and elected officials. Hayley Painter, co-founder and co-CEO of Painterland Sisters Organic Skyr Yogurt, served as guest speaker for the event.

"Each year, the discussion is intended to create a friendly dialogue and exchange of ideas on agricultural and environmental topics impacting our region," Yaw said. "The meeting is also designed to listen to concerns and answer questions. I am thankful to all of our attendees, volunteers and Hayley Painter for joining us this year to help highlight important issues facing the industry."

Hayley and Stephanie Painter of Tioga County's multi-generational Painterland Farms founded Painterland Sisters Organic Skyr Yogurt in 2020. Produced in Pennsylvania, the skyr is made from organic whole milk and sweetened naturally using fruits and cane sugar, most of which comes from nearby American farms. Painterland Sisters now sells across nearly 2,000 locations at grocery stores including Giant, Whole Foods, Sprouts and Gristedes.
