One of the most popular gas station chains in the United States is offering a steep discount on its gas for the week of Thanksgiving , providing some financial relief to those traveling for the holiday.

Sheetz will be offering its Unleaded 88 gas, which is a mixture of 84 octane gasoline and ethanol, at only $1.99 per gallon. With the current average price of gas at over $3.30 per gallon, this offer provides travelers a discount of over 33%, according to AAA.

Unleaded 88 has been approved for use in any car, truck, or SUV from 2001 and onward, according to the Environmental Protection Agency .

This offer will last for a week, ending on Monday, Nov. 27, and is available at all Sheetz locations that carry this fuel grade in North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia, according to WNEP 16.

Sheetz's deal will likely be welcome news to families, as AAA is anticipating 55.4 million travelers in the United States to travel 50 miles or more over the Thanksgiving holiday travel period. A majority of these travelers, 49.13 million, will make their journey via automobile, while 4.69 million will travel via airplane and 1.55 million will travel by other means.

The forecast number of travelers marks a 2.3% increase over last year's travel and also is the third-highest Thanksgiving forecast since 2000. The only years that beat this year's forecast are 2005 and 2019.

The Transportation Security Administration has released its own predictions for airplane Thanksgiving travel this year, as it expects a new all-time record for single-day travel to be set on Sunday, Nov. 26, given the likelihood that screenings will surpass 2.9 million. In total, TSA is expecting 30 million passengers to flock terminals between Friday, Nov. 17, and Tuesday, Nov. 28.
