Shocking footage shows racial attack on Circle K gas station customer

Shocking cell phone video shows a gas station employee hurling racial slurs at a longtime customer, who is now working on filing a lawsuit.

John Wong said he was shopping on September 5 in a Circle K in Houston to get food for his pregnant girlfriend when he was verbally attacked by a clerk.

Wong said he was completely shocked, adding that he'd never experienced racism in the 10 years he'd been shopping at that Circle K.

On video Wong recorded, the employee is heard saying: 'Hey, hello, Chinese, Asian mother******. Play it in your country, not in America. Get the f*** out of here.'

Wong said the employee refused to sell him food and instead continued to lash out at him, FOX 26 Houston reported.

'This is a complete shock to me. I have no idea why this person started berating me and saying what he was saying,' Wong said.

In a press conference outside the gas station where Wong was confronted, civil rights lawyer Randall Kallinen shared his outrage over this instance of racism.

'Circle K needs to get together and put together a program about racial sensitivity,' Kallinen said.

Wong said he's working on a lawsuit unless Circle K can respond adequately.

Circle K said in a statement that it immediately terminated the employee who accosted Wong after finding out what happened.

'After learning of a confrontation between an employee and two customers two weeks ago at a Houston location, we made the decision to immediately terminate this employee for violating company policies,' the statement read.

It continued: 'We were provided a brief 45-second smartphone video clip of this encounter recorded by the customer that included audio of the exchange. Although the video doesn't capture the entirety of the incident, what it shows clearly goes against our values and code of conduct.'

Circle K said it is continuing to investigate the incident and wants to speak with Wong and his lawyers 'to fully understand this experience from their perspective.'

DailyMail.com approached Circle K for comment.
