Should Patrick Mahomes Push Chiefs to Make Receiver Trade?
The Kansas City Chiefs will look to stay undefeated coming out of their bye week when they face the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
While Kansas City has yet to lose through five games, the team has suffered multiple losses to their offensive depth, especially in their receiving corps. Both Rashee Rice and Marquise Brown have been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
In the past week, multiple teams looking to contend in the AFC made moves for top receiver options, as the Buffalo Bills traded for Amari Cooper, and the New York Jets traded for Davante Adams.
Despite the Chiefs being down multiple receivers, Patrick Mahomes recently spoke out in support of his current group.
"I have extreme confidence with the guys that are on that football field," Mahomes said. "They've won games, they've won Super Bowls, they've made plays in big moments and (GM) Brett Veach has done a great job of bringing players in that can step up whenever their number is called."
While Mahomes clearly feels confident in the group that he has, should he push the Chiefs to make a move for a new weapon? Veterans like Deandre Hopkins and Darius Slayton could add depth to Kansas City's receiver room without costing a high draft pick.
